Born 3 May 1892, at Nicholas MN. Seaman Iten enlisted in the National Naval Volunteers

15 Jul 1917. He was assigned to the U.S.S. Great Northern 11 Jan 1918. On 12 Feb 1918,

he was assigned to the Receiving Ship Philadelphia; and on 22d Feb transferred to the

U.S.S. North Dakota serving on that ship for 16 months. Released from active duty 21 Jun 1919.
